Appearances

One of the surprisingly wonderful things about being a writer is the opportunity for speaking, readings and book signings it affords. Since the release of The Creative Call, in 2001, I have led retreats, workshops, and book studies all over the United States. With the publication of Word Weavers in 2008, my coauthor, Eva Marie Everson and I have guided numerous writers in starting and maintaining their own writers critique groups.

Now, with my latest book, Garden Graces: The Wisdom in Growing Things, I'm able to enjoy speaking at all kinds of gardening events. Since Garden Graces is about gardening as a metaphor for life and living more fully and productively, it doesn't limit itself, or me, to the garden club circuit. With chapters on simplifying our lives, making time and space for what really matters, dealing with the death of a loved one, taking on new challenges late in our lives (I became a published writer at age 51) and enriching the soil of our souls, this book has given me a new way to communicate with audiences of all kinds.
